L1A1 1961 Dated

Deactivated Enfield made SLR L1A1 19561 Dated. The L1A1 was the mainstay of the British army through many post-war conflicts. Used by the Australians in Vietnam, and most famously in the Falkland's war in 1982. Firing the hard-hitting 7.62 round, this weapon is remembered fondly by squaddies across the world.

The L1A1 was the standard British Army infantry assault rifle from the mid 1950s through to the late 1990s.3

The L1A1 stemmed from a British military need to arm its infantry with a modern automatic weapon chambered for the widely-accepted 7.62x51mm NATO standard cartridge.

Due to Limited Local production possibilities, the British landed and agreements with Fabrique-National (FN) to license production of the widely successful FN FAL.

The L1A1 would be a near copy of the original FN FAL but the British production would be center around the imperial measurements, this would eventually make the two rifles, despite aesthetic similar incompatible with parts.

**This rifle has been deactivated, there are no movable parts, bolt, trigger, and selector have been welded in place.**
