The jeweler sample George Cross is a well made and well detail piece with the original detail included as much as possible. Instituted on 24th of September, 1940 during the dire time of the nation, these medal are to be awarded to civilian or soldiers who demonstrates great heroism, outstanding bravery and when above and beyond the call facing extreme danger. The actual George Cross itself are made from solid silver by the Royal Mint, the appearance of the cross show a central medallion with St. George slaughtering a dragon within "For Gallantry" that surrounding the central medallion, and the four royal cypher G VI on each corner of the cross limb, but for this jeweler sample it is four G R on each corner of the cross limb instead of G VI, the cross itself is of a plain design and usually the recipient would have their name and date of the award.
