The RPK is a 7.62x39mm Soviet made light machine gun designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov. Functionally, the RPK is identical to the AK-47 with improvements to enhance durability, increase effective range and accuracy, as well as extend its sustained fire capability. The RPK features a heavier and much longer barrel than a standard issued AK-47 / AKM rifle. The folding bipod replaces the bayonet lug, but offers the user a stable firing platform.
