Take the best parts of a BDU jacket - rip-stop fabric, mil-standard camo patterns, Velcro-tightening cuffs (to keep out snow, sand, dirt, and bugs), pockets, loop attachment points for patches - and blend that with a water-wicking base layer for your chest and back, and you get the Combat Shirt.

The moisture-wicking fabric covers your torso and back, and is engineered to draw sweat and rain away from your body and hold it on the outside surface, where it can evaporate away without bothering you - unlike cotton BDU jackets. Plus, the Under Vests And Body Armor BDU moisture-wicking fabric is soft and incredibly comfortable.

This is especially important when working with a tactical vest, as that extra gear presses against your skin and secures tightly around your torso. You want the fabric in between to be as comfortable as possible...and you need it to get rid of that sweat so your vest doesn't chafe you.
