Looks so good my friend immediately wanted one too.
Judging from older reviews, It seems to be an upgrage from previous versions. This is not a military 3-day or overnighter pack like some people seem to expect: it is a day pack about the right size for a day hike, a day at the beach, etc. The material is really heavy and, contrary to remarks from a few years ago, the stitching is really good and it looks very durable. This will not fit an Alice frame, but could be fit onto a frame if you really wanted to but at this size why? You won't carry 50 pounds of equipment in there. It is not perfect by any means though and despite all these points I only took 1 star off: This pack has not internal support either so organizing the content goes a long way for comfort. It will flop down when you put it on the ground half-empty. The strap tips need a bit of maneuvering through the clasps and the shoulder straps tend to elongate on their own when you put it on -easily fixed with safety pins, a bread bag clip or by doing the well-known plastic clip mod for Alice packs. The shoulder straps are a little short for tall & big people when it is full, again easily fixed with the plastic clip mod. It is not waterproof by any means, but will fit nicely under a poncho. On the upside, it is very comfortable and hangs nicely, The shoulder straps are nice, wide and stay flat (not padded and does not seem to require it). The outer pockets are generous enough I have my glasses case and phone in one side (with room to spare) and a poncho plus first aid kit snug in the center pocket. The main compartment fits everything I need to spend an entire day at an activity and carry extra clothing for the evening. All in all, it is a very good pack, looks amazing and is comfortable, It is not really meant as a hiking pack but can be used for that and it does exactly what I got it for: spend a full day at the beach, bushcrafting, boating, overnight at a friends place and get compliments on it.
