he Russian Armed Forces Yudashkin-style EMR (digital camouflage) uniform set was introduced in 2009 but officially phased out of service in 2014, although it remains in use. This phase-out coincided with the introduction of the new VKBO/VKPO 8-layer system, designed to adapt to a wide range of temperatures from +15 °C (59 °F) to −40 °C (−40 °F). Despite its official discontinuation, the Yudashkin uniform remains in surplus and continues to be used by Russian forces. Additionally, it is issued to certain internationally unrecognized armed groups in specific republics, reflecting its ongoing utility and availability.
