The MG 42 (shortened from German: Maschinen gewehr 42, or "machine gun 42") was a 7.92x57mm Mauser general purpose machine gun that was developed in Nazi Germany and entered service with the Wehrmacht in 1942. It supplemented, and, in some instances, replaced the MG 34 general-purpose machine gun in all branches of the German Armed Forces, though both weapons were manufactured and used until the end of the war.
Until the release of this gun, it's been some time since we've seen the MG-42 replicated and Shoei have done it again. First they decide to make an Air Blow Back version and now they've moved on to the Electric Blow Back system. The EBB system isn't unique, but the way they've gone about doing so is. Instead of having it in the stock, it is now in apart of the gearbox. This means that the screws keeping it in place will need to be tightened every so often.
Though there might be a need to tighten up the screws every so often, the shooting experience is exceptional. Since it's such a big and heavy replica, weighing about 7 Kilos in weight, just above 14 pounds, there has to be a lot of kick to move this giant. However, Shoei has done a great job. The kick is most certainly pleasing but that's just the start of it. The fact that it's mainly comprised of metal apart from the grip and stock, lugging this around won't be on your list of things to do. Laying suppressing fire will be your main agenda on the field.
