WWII Era Swiss Army Cowhide Backpack

Keeping your stuff warm and dry. This vintage Swiss Army animal hide backpack, with accessories is from 1947. This well-preserved, vintage Swiss Army bag has a frame made of wood. Its outer layer is made from animal hide with a rich dark, fairly long hair. For this reason, the Swiss soldiers gave the rucksack the nickname 'Haaraffe' or 'Fellaffe', which translates to 'Hairy Ape'. This bag could be made of cowhide, but these bags were also made of the hide of pony, goat or deer.
